Day 28

We hit the road and found our first Stop - Frosty Mango for icecream and pancake and another BIG Thing with the Frosty Mango Mascot.

Just before Ingham turn left towards Wallaman Falls, (100km round trip back to Ingham) It is the highest, permanent, single-drop waterfall in Australia, Wallaman Falls is part of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, home to some of the oldest rainforests on earth and many endangered plants and animal. Girringun National Park is also the gateway to the Wet Tropics Great Walks. Discover plunging waterfalls, lush gorges and inspirational views as you tackle one of the two day walks that start from Wallaman Falls and trek down the Herbert River valley. Whilst we didn't do this detour it is definitely on the list for when we can visit in person.

We made it to Ingham and visited JK’s deli in the heart of Ingham’s CBD and discovered Mercer Lane’s Mosaic Artwork It is 50 metres of wonderful mosaic work done by local Artist Kate Carrit's and shares the stories of the Cane Cutters history and influence on modern day Ingham. We then decided to check out the TYTO Regional Art Gallery.

Back on the road and we ended up 18km north of Ingham.

We added 98km to the trip today. Total Km Walked - 3380/2500
