Day 26

Today we clicked over 3000 travelled and headed to Bowen. A great way to check out the history and culture in the town was to walk around and checkout the murals. There are 27 all up including one from renown painter Ken Done who painted the mural "Coal Loading from Jetty" at the Centrepoint Shopping Centre in Herbert Street.

Bowen is also home to another Big Thing with the Big Mango which is a tribute to the fact that mangoes have been grown in the region since 1880.

Bowen also played host to the movie Australia starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman with the Grandview hotel featuring in the film.

After a busy day checking out the town we headed to Jocheim's Pies for a bite to eat before continuing on the the small town of Merinda for the night.
